Adobe CLP for Personal Use
Terms:
Adobe software for personal use is sold under the terms of the
UW's Adobe Contractual Licensing Program, which is renewed every 2
years.
Upgrade Protection:
If you purchase during Adobe's upgrade window (which begins on the date Adobe announces a new version and continues for 90 days) you are
entitled to a no-cost upgrade. The time period during which you may claim your upgrade is defined for each product release. Click here for directions on how to claim your upgrade: http://kb.wisc.edu/wiscsoftware/page.php?id=13797
Students, faculty, and staff cannot purchase maintenance for
the software sold under this program. Personal licenses are treated
like retail licenses, which do not offer maintenance.
If you are still a student, faculty, or staff when a new
version is released, and you want that new version, you would need to
purchase a new full license.
If you are no longer a student, faculty,
or staff when a new version is released, and you want that new version, you
would need to purchase a commercial (retail) upgrade for your license. Although commercial upgrade licenses are more expensive than Student and Teacher licensing products, they are much less expensive than a full-version commercial license. In other words, if you keep your proofs of purchase and stay current on versions, you will never have to purchase a full commercial license.
For information on which version is current and to find out if your software can be upgraded, check out Adobe's website at www.adobe.com
or call Adobe Customer Service at (800) 833-6687.
Restrictions on purchase:
Students,
faculty, and staff may only purchase one copy of a particular product.
If you are unable to purchase the product you
want and believe that you should be able to, please email wiscsales@doit.wisc.edu.
Students,
faculty, and staff may only purchase
products for their own personal use and they may not resell or
distribute the
product.
Number of permitted Installations:
The personal Adobe products allow for two installations on, for example, a desktop and a laptop. Any computer on which the software is installed must be owned by the person who purchased the software. Only one installation can be used at a time and the software can only by used by the person who purchased the software.
Changing Platforms:
Assuming you're still at the current version of the product you purchased, you can change platforms (Mac to Win or Win to Mac). Additional rules and the procedure from Adobe: http://goo.gl/5ISe2
Inappropriate Use:
The end user may not modify,
resell, rent, lease, sublicense or lend the software.
The software must be installed on the purchaser's home or
portable computer. This software may not be installed on institution
owned or leased computers.
Software sold to individuals under this program is for
personal use only and is not to be used for commercial purposes. If you
want to make a profit from using these applications then you need to
purchase a commercial license. |
